The AP Macroeconomics exam is 2 hours and 10 minutes long in total. It consists of two sections:
- Section I: Multiple Choice
- 60 questions
- 1 hour and 10 minutes (70 minutes)
- Counts for 66% of the exam score
- Section II: Free Response
- 3 questions (1 long free-response and 2 short free-response)
- 1 hour (includes a 10-minute reading period)
- Counts for 33% of the exam score
This format applies to the hybrid digital exam where multiple-choice questions are completed digitally and free-response answers are handwritten in paper booklets
