To unblock a phone number, the process depends on whether you are using an Android or an iPhone device. Here are the general steps for each:
On Android Phones
- Open the Phone app.
- Tap the More icon (three dots) in the upper-right corner.
- Select Settings.
- Tap Blocked Numbers.
- Find the number you want to unblock and tap the X or minus (-) icon next to it.
- Confirm by selecting Unblock.
You can also unblock a number from the Recents tab by tapping the block icon next to the number, then tapping Unblock in the contact info
On iPhone or iPad
- Open Settings.
- Tap Phone (or Messages or FaceTime if you blocked the number there).
- Tap Blocked Contacts.
- Swipe left on the number you want to unblock and tap Unblock.
Alternatively, if the number is saved as a contact:
- Open the Contacts app.
- Select the contact.
- Scroll down and tap Unblock this Caller
If the number was blocked through your phone carrier’s service, you may need to contact your carrier or use their app to unblock it
. These steps will allow you to receive calls, texts, and FaceTime requests again from the unblocked number.
