To take a screenshot on Windows, you have several easy methods:
- Windows key + Shift + S : Opens the Snipping Tool overlay, allowing you to select a rectangular, freeform, window, or full-screen snip. The screenshot is copied to your clipboard and can be edited or saved in the Snipping Tool app
- Windows key + Print Screen (PrtScn) : Captures the entire screen and automatically saves the screenshot as a file in the Pictures > Screenshots folder. The screen briefly dims to indicate the capture
- Print Screen (PrtScn) alone: Copies the entire screen to the clipboard. You can then paste it into an image editor or document to save it. In Windows 11, pressing PrtScn also opens the Snipping Tool for selection
