To cure vampirism in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, the method depends on how long you have had the disease Porphyric Hemophilia:
If less than 72 in-game hours have passed since infection:
You can cure vampirism just like any other disease by using one of these methods:
- Drink a Cure Disease potion (e.g., Mandrake Root)
- Cast a Cure Disease spell
- Eat food with the Cure Disease effect (such as Shepherd's Pie)
- Pray at a Wayshrine, Chapel, or Temple
If you act within this time frame, you will prevent turning into a vampire
If more than 72 hours have passed and you have turned into a vampire:
There are two main ways to cure vampirism:
- Visit the Font of Renewal in Deepscorn Hollow
This is the easiest method. In Deepscorn Hollow, find the pool with a stone pillar in the middle. Collect ore from veins on the walls around the pool, then activate the pillar to cure yourself. This method was originally added with the Vile Lair DLC but is part of the base game in Oblivion Remastered.
Note: Using the Font of Renewal will permanently prevent you from becoming a vampire again in that playthrough
- Complete the "Vampire Cure" quest
This questline starts by speaking to Raminus Polus at the Arcane University. He will direct you to Count Janus Hassildor in Castle Skingrad. The Count will send you to Melisande, a witch living near the Corbolo River, who agrees to cure your vampirism if you bring her five empty Grand Soul Gems. After completing the quest and making the cure potion, you can rid yourself of vampirism.
This quest is longer and more involved but also leads to a permanent cure
Additional notes:
- Once cured by either method, you cannot contract vampirism again unless you use console commands or reload an earlier save
- If you want a quick cure and are on PC, you can use console commands to add the Cure Vampirism Potion to your inventory and drink it
In summary, curing vampirism in Oblivion requires acting quickly within 72 hours or, if already transformed, using either the Font of Renewal or completing the Vampire Cure quest
