To take a screenshot on a Windows computer, several methods exist:
- Press the Windows key + Shift + S to open the Snipping Tool panel, then select the area you want to capture. The screenshot is copied to the clipboard and shows a notification for saving or sharing.
- Press Windows key + Print Screen to capture the entire screen and automatically save it in the Pictures > Screenshots folder.
- Press Print Screen (PrtScn) to copy the entire screen to the clipboard; you then need to paste it into an image editor like Paint to save it.
- Press Alt + Print Screen to capture the active window and copy it to the clipboard for pasting into an image editor.
- Use Windows key + G to open the Game Bar and then click the screenshot button or press Windows key + Alt + PrtScn to take a screenshot.
These keyboard shortcuts give flexibility depending on whether you want to capture the whole screen, a window, or a selected area, and whether to save automatically or manually edit the screenshot.
