Cameron Boyce died due to sudden unexpected death in epilepsy (SUDEP), caused by a seizure related to his ongoing medical condition of epilepsy. He was found unresponsive in his sleep on July 6, 2019, at the age of 20, and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner confirmed the cause of death as a fatal seizure resulting from epilepsy after performing an autopsy. Boyce had been taking medication to manage seizures but had experienced a few seizures in his life, all in his sleep. His death brought awareness to SUDEP, a rare but tragic risk associated with epilepsy.
