The depth of the Danube River varies significantly depending on the location and season. Generally, its depth ranges from about 4 to 10 meters (approximately 13 to 33 feet). At its deepest point, particularly near the Iron Gate gorge area, the Danube can reach depths of up to 90 meters (around 295 feet), making it one of the deepest parts of the river and the deepest river area in Europe. In other sections, the depth can be much shallower, sometimes as little as 1 to 2 meters (3 to 6 feet). The average depths along much of the river tend to range mostly between 3 to 8 meters (10 to 26 feet) depending on the river section and water levels.
