As a youth in your community, your role in accordance with the National Service Training Program (NSTP) implementation involves actively participating in one of its three program components, each designed to develop your civic consciousness, patriotism, and social responsibility:

  • Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC): If you choose ROTC, your role is to undergo military training that promotes discipline, physical fitness, and national defense preparedness. You actively participate in drills and exercises to develop leadership and contribute to community safety and security.
  • Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS): If you opt for CWTS, your role is to engage in community service activities that improve the welfare and quality of life of community members. This includes participating in environmental conservation, disaster preparedness, health, education, and other community development programs.
  • Literacy Training Service (LTS): If you select LTS, your role is to help teach literacy and numeracy skills to school children, out-of-school youth, and other marginalized groups, thereby contributing to educational development and bridging the literacy gap in your community.

Through these roles, you contribute to nation-building by embodying the ethics of service, patriotism, and volunteerism, enhancing your physical, moral, intellectual, and social well-being, and actively participating in public and civic affairs for the betterment of your community and country
