Anne Burrell, the Food Network star and chef, died by suicide on June 17, 2025, at the age of 55. The New York City Office of Chief Medical Examiner determined the cause of death as "acute intoxication due to the combined effects of diphenhydramine, ethanol (alcohol), cetirizine, and amphetamine." Diphenhydramine and cetirizine are antihistamines, ethanol is found in alcohol, and amphetamine is commonly prescribed for ADHD. She was found unconscious and unresponsive at her home in Brooklyn surrounded by approximately 100 assorted pills. Her death was confirmed after investigation and emergency responders pronounced her deceased at the scene. Burrell's family described her as a beloved wife, sister, stepmother, and friend, and her passing has deeply affected those who knew her and her fans worldwide.
