A survey conducted by Revolt Sexual Assault in partnership with The Student Room found that 62% of students and recent graduates have experienced sexual violence while at university in the UK. This figure rises to 70% among female students and 73% among students with a disability. Additionally, 8% of female students who responded reported having been raped during their time at university. The most common form of sexual assault reported was groping and unwelcome or unnecessary touching in a sexual manner. The most frequent locations for these incidents were halls of residence, social events, and university social spaces such as bars and shops. Despite the high prevalence, only about 6% of those who experienced sexual violence reported it to their university, and only 2% felt both able to report and satisfied with the reporting process
