The Flying Scotsman steam locomotive is currently touring several heritage railways in the UK during 2025 as part of the bicentenary celebration of the modern railway. Its recent and upcoming locations include:
- From February 22 to March 9, 2025, it was at the Nene Valley Railway with a mix of static displays and passenger rides.
- It was on display at the National Railway Museum in York for Easter, April 5–23, 2025.
- From May 12 to June 2, 2025, it visited the Didcot Railway Centre in Oxfordshire with rides available on selected dates.
- It spent summer from July 26 to August 25, 2025, at the Locomotion museum in County Durham, offering display and steam ride days.
- It also made appearances on the Severn Valley Railway in July 2025, running three return trips daily between Kidderminster and Bridgnorth.
Additionally, the Flying Scotsman is scheduled for special services at the North Yorkshire Moors Railway in October and November 2025. This steam locomotive is managed by Northern Steam Operations Limited under a contract until 2032 and is owned by the National Railway Museum.
