The Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree is typically put up in mid-November. For 2025, the tree is expected to arrive in New York on either November 8 or November 15. On the day it arrives, workers hoist the tree into position, usually starting early in the morning and taking three to four hours to fully place it. After the tree is put up, it is covered with scaffolding for about two to three weeks while it is decorated with over 50,000 lights. The official lighting ceremony is scheduled for December 3, 2025, the first Wednesday after Thanksgiving, when the tree is lit for the season.
