To raise your hand in a Zoom meeting, you can use the following methods depending on your device:
On Desktop (Windows/Mac)
- Click the Participants button in the Zoom meeting toolbar to open the participant panel.
- At the bottom of the panel, click Raise Hand.
- Alternatively, you can click the Reactions button on the toolbar and select Raise Hand from the menu.
- To lower your hand, click the Lower Hand button in the same place.
- Keyboard shortcuts:
- Windows: Press Alt + Y to toggle raising or lowering your hand.
- Mac: Press Option + Y to do the same.
On Mobile (iPhone/Android)
- Tap the More button (three dots) at the bottom right of the screen.
- Select Raise Hand from the menu.
- To lower your hand, tap Lower Hand the same way.
Additional Notes
- The host will receive a notification that you raised your hand and can allow you to speak.
- If you dial into a Zoom meeting by phone, you can raise your hand by pressing *9 on your phone keypad.
- If you can't find the Raise Hand option, check if the host has disabled nonverbal feedback or if you are in fullscreen mode which might hide the toolbar.
These methods allow you to virtually raise your hand in a Zoom meeting to indicate you want to speak without interrupting the flow of the meeting.
