Snow forecasts are very location-specific, so the expected amount depends on exactly where you are and the time frame (today, next 48 hours, next storm, etc.).
What you can do right now
To find out how much snow you’re supposed to get at your location, do one of the following.
- Go to your national or local weather service website and enter your city or ZIP/postal code, then check the “Winter weather” or “Hourly/10-day” section for snowfall amounts.
- Use a major weather app or site (such as Weather Underground or similar) and look at the snow or precipitation forecast; it usually shows expected inches/centimeters for each time period.
- If you are in a ski or mountain area, specialized snow-forecast sites often provide detailed snowfall maps and totals for the next 1–3 days.
If you reply with your nearest city, state/province, and roughly “today/tomorrow/this weekend,” a more tailored estimate can be provided in plain language.
