Ed Gein killed two known people: Mary Hogan, a tavern owner who disappeared in 1954, and Bernice Worden, a hardware store owner whom he murdered in 1957. He admitted to these two murders but was found not guilty by reason of insanity and spent the rest of his life in psychiatric institutions. Though some speculate he may have killed others, including his brother and two men who disappeared in 1952, no definitive proof exists beyond the two confirmed victims.
